Before BMW unveiled 555-hp X5 M, tuner G-Power revealed a 525-hp V8 G-Power Typhoon based on the X5. In an effort not to be left behind by the OEM X5 M, G-Power has now unveiled an even more powerful X5 – known as the X5 G-Power Typhoon RS.
With the help of a G-Power SK III RS supercharger, the Typhoon RS produces at total of 625-hp with a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft. That allows it to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 177 mph. The standard BMW X5 also goes from 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds with a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.
The performance kit by G-Power also uses a high-performance exhaust system, racing catalysts and rear mufflers, and a large-volume aluminum charge air cooling system at the front.
Visual changes remain subtle from the original G-Power Typhoon.
